A Battlefield 6 player with hundreds of hours of playtime has scored a full refund of the game after Battlefield Studios removed key modes from its quick-play matchmaking. Over on Reddit, the player revealed that Steam granted them a full $110 refund of the game's Phantom Edition, saying they got upset after developers continued to pull modes from the game's quick play matchmaking. They noted that it began with Squad Deathmatch and King of the Hill, but once Rush (a Battlefield staple) was pulled, they requested a refund. Steam famously refuses to grant most refunds unless the game was purchased in the last two weeks and you've barely played it. However, the player wrote a note to a support agent explaining their feelings and why they wanted a refund. Valve seemingly thought it was a valid enough reason and granted the refund outside of the usual terms. Whether or not this will spark more refunds remains to be seen, but it does show that some fans are fed up with games radically changing throughout their life cycle.
